Is June the month for Fuel Economy records?

As June draws to a close, it has been quite a month for those looking to break MPG records.

First off, we had the Audi A6 setting a new Guinness World Records title for the most countries driven to on a single tank of fuel, when it covered 14 countries in early June. The attempt started in the Netherlands and the car drove south through as many countries as possible before finally finishing in Hungary. Full details of the journey can be found by clicking here.

At the same time, albeit over a longer time period, Honda’s Civic Tourer and 1.6 i-DTEC engine was being driven across Europe on a journey of over 13,500 km in 25 days as part of its bid to break the wold record for fuel economy. As we write, the Honda team are waiting for Guinness World Records to verify their data, but they’re hopeful the news will be good!

Here at Fuel Watchdog we love a good MPG World Record attempt, but two in a month is fantastic! As soon as we hear whether Honda got over the line we’ll let you know.
